Yes, the technology used in laser printing is not subject to risk of the ink drying in the print heads of some inkjet printers.

I’d say a laser one, as inkjet printers have a tendency to clog up if they’re not used regularly – the ink dries in the jets.

Main advantage of Laser is the printing speed and save ink cost. Ink jet will print your better photos due to resolution, but is costly and take 4ever, print photo etc.. just goes to cotsco, store is much cheaper in term of cost.

Laser advantage over inkjet is that you can print more copies but the toner is slightly more expensive. In the long run though you win.
Also a color laser is more expensive than an inkjet.
As for the drying problem, you should not face it with the laser.

If you’re inkjet keeps drying out then a laser would be perfect, and seeing as you don’t use it very much it would last you very long, but of course remember that the toner is more expensive than ink and so is the laser printer, but if you’re willing to spend the occasional huge amount this would be a excellent investment. Not only are Laser Jets more practical but they print much cleaner and crisp and more professional looking.

No, toner particles for LASERJET printers last FOREVER, and never dry up. I can’t believe how long HP Laserjets have been around…and the prices just like Computer PCs have dropped.
There are EXCELLENT low cost options for professional quality printing in Black & white and the Best Advice unless you like spending excellent money buying expensive inkjet cartridges, if I were in your shoes I would simply look for an older Hewlett Packard (HP) Laserjet Printer like one from the HP Laserjet 4 or 5 series, HP 2100 or 2200 series etc. and NO LASERJET PRINTERs are Not Terrible for Your Health? As you know the print quality for any papers or documents you have to submit is TERRIFIC and all the drivers are still readily availble on-line for download.
Like someone else suggest I really saw some EXCELLENT WORKHORSE HP LASERJET 4 printers on sale for $12.00 on CRAIGLIST which caught me by surprise me…since I personally own like 4 Hewlett Packard black & white HP Laserjets that I paid from a free-gift away, $35, $65 and like $1,500 <= years ago groundbreaking new.
Naturally I don’t need any more but where I saw it was on my local CRAIGSLIST under the FOR SALE category then COMPUTERS. What happened was Seller bought a huge lot of commercial HP Laserjet printers on few pallets and simply did not have storage.
Just be PATIENT if you didn’t see any under a wildcard search or maybe POST YOUR OWN CL Inquiry in 2 places under WANTED and COMPUTERS but most likely all you will attract is people dumping inkjet printers.
EBAY COMPUTERs might be another Excellent Buy to find a excellent laserjet printer, but do yourself a favor and SEARCH BY CLOSEST DISTANCE bec S&H will certainly be costly. Also genuine unopened HP toner lasts forever and never dries up, and with patience can be bought for like $25 or more and one toner cartridge can easily last a full year.
