I do not do much printing just like you I have laser printer I have been using the toner for the last two years and it is still going.

Toner, certainly. The dry “ink” of toner does not expire.
Inkjets have real problems when used infrequently. The ink dries up in the jets, clogging them. Unless you use them regularly, inkjets have a lot of problems.

Laser! I have a HP Laserjet on the original toner cartridge and I’ve been using it for over 7 years.
If you watch for sales, you can pick and HP LJ for under 100. Officemax.com has the HP LaserJet P1006 on sale for $99. They list a Samsung printer for even less but I don’t have any experience with that brand.
Don’t forget to buy a USB printer cable if you need one – most printers do not include one in the box.
