I opened this and tried to follow directions but when I tried to put the powder in the cartridge it just exploded all over. I was outside so it was easier to clean up. I just threw everything away and bought a cartridge.

This set came quickly with American English (not Chinese English) instructions in color that were very direct and easy to follow. Things to note: You will need both a regular/small Phillips screwdriver and fine flat screwdriver or small putty knife for prying the edge and cap off. I didn’t even need the latex gloves or rag they include, but just be careful and do it in a space that has good lighting and can potentially get a little dirty. They include a replacement fuse as well to make sure the printer doesn’t reject the refilled cartridge. They also do specify that cartridges should not be refilled more than three times, which makes sense I guess. Very worthwhile, economical, and easy. The bottle is also recyclable plastic #2.

It appears that laser printer manufacturers have taken a page out of the inkjet business plan: selling cheap hardware but make out like bandits with the refills. In a research- intensive field such as ink this is somewhat understandable, but monochrome toner is such a mundane product and the Replacement Cartridge for Samsung ML-2010 runs higher than a new printer, so I veered elsewhere – and I’m glad I did.
Shipping was decent (LaserTek delivered from Fargo to New York in 4 business days via USPS), the instructions were easy enough (although a little amateurish, with photos instead of schematics), and the whole process over in 11 minutes (yes I clocked). I had a little toner left over at the end, in fact I spilled some on the table, but it wiped clean easy enough (Lysol and paper towel). The prints look flawless to me, and it doesn’t smudge either – perfect.
Best of all, by going with the refill, I produced less trash compared to a new cartridge, what more can one want: save money AND be easier on the environment? Five stars.

just follow the directions. I laid out some old newspapers on the work surface. The instructions say to dump out any of the older remaining toner. And there was at least a tablespoon so be prepared. Getting the cap off the cartridge is tricky, somebody recommended using an old credit card. I used my fingernails and an old credit card. This seems to be the really critical part because if that cap gets damaged, you’re going to have toner leaking out. Otherwise, I’m printing again and didn’t have to pay the $80 for an OEM replacement part. Shipping was fast, arrived 3-6 days earlier than expected. The shipping charge is steep, so you get what you pay for.

The instructions were easy to follow, although I’m not sure it says not to squeeze the bottle, don’t. I didn’t but someone might, just let gravity do the work. It took 5 minutes of just letting the powder drop in, remove the bottle several times to let the powder settle back to the bottom of the bottle. Just a little shaking does the job, even had a third of the powder left for later. I printed a 15 page document with perfect results.
