Original HP LaserJet 12A Print Cartridge in Retail Packaging – Dual Pack Q2612AD
The HP 12A Dual Pack – Toner cartridge is a excellent product. It is certainly on the expensive side, but I have never had one fail. I really like HP laser printers and insist on using the toner cartridge made by HP. The Dual Pack is a better buy for me because I will use them before they get ancient and there is a significant savings.

While refilled cartridges seem like a bargain, my side by side comparison showed that the print quality was much poorer. I would dearly like to find a reliable supplier or manufacturer of refilled or compatible cartridges but I am not aware of any. We buy the HP original cartridges regularly for our home office. I have never had a problem with the HP originals. You could consider this dual pack if you use several of these a year as we do. The current Amazon price is $61.99 (11/08/08) for a single cartridge. This is cost competitive with New-egg and HP itself and you can save $5 per cartridge with this dual pack. But, Amazon’s Subscribe & Save option (15% off) for the single cartridge HP LaserJet Q2612A Black Print Cartridge (Q2612A) is likely to be the lowest price available anywhere. The price per printed page works out to something in the range of 2 to 3 cents for the toner.
