The CB435A which came with my laser printer didn’t make it through a ream of paper — and that was all text in a light font! I’m throwing this printer out.

This was fantastic when I bought it back in November on Amazon. Went buy a new one in May, only to find the price went up $7, AND I have to pay nearly $8 in shipping for ground, despite the fact that I have Amazon Prime. I’ll be going to the local store and getting it for the same price as I would have paid after shipping and will have it the same day. This kind of outsourcing is going to kill Amazon. One star for buying it, the cartridge itself is fine.

I got the printer on Amazon for $49 and free shipping. The cartridge is more expensive than the printer!

I do like the printer and the cartridge is simple to use and simple to install. I like HP printers….but despise their scanners.

I wish HP would lower the cost of their laser cartridges. It is too expensive for even those of us with a small extra money. I might try the refilled cartridges to see if the quality and duration are on par with the HP ones.

The jury is still out for me. I bought a new HP P1006 printer about 6 months ago for a fantastic price ($80) at a local office supply chain store. I had chose to get rid of my HP ink jet printer due to the cost of the HP ink cartridges and the inconsistent quality of the more reasonably priced off-brand cartridges.

I have been satisfied with the print quality of HP P1006 though I am not yet convinced about the printed page quantity claims made by HP for this printer and cartridge. My original HP cartridge ran “dry” after less than 800 pages – they claim 1500 pages for the expected life. I know that what you print has a huge impact on the actual cartridge life expectancy. At this moment my average printed page (type density) must match HP’s typical expectations since the projected number of pages remaining on the new cartridge summed with the pages I’ve already printed are on target for 1500 sheets. I’ll update this review after the new data is in.

Meanwhile, I hope to find a reliable, less expensive cartridge for this printer. I appreciate Amazon offering the name brand for a excellent price.
